At The End of the World

In 1938, after publishing an expose on American Nazism and facing a shocking act of anti-semitic violence, Julia and Edward move from Boston to New York City to stay with his cousin, Freyda. Over the course of two evenings and four years, the three are pulled apart and drawn together as they are forced to question identities, allegiances, and what it might mean to truly live at the end of the world.

At The End of the World

Recommended by

  • Jordan Muschler: At The End of the World

A quiet play with deep empathy for its three characters and the emotional effects they all experience. It finds a unique and relevant perspective towards Holocaust, asking what the effects are of hearing about tragedy from afar while being unable to prevent it. It is a play that asks human, complicated questions which, somehow, are still as relevant as ever.
