Thoroughly enjoyable! Some hysterically funny lines. A real Thanksgiving feast: a pressure cooker of obligations from ironing Gran's linen napkins to squeezing 12 "locusts" round a ...table! Great fun.

CORNUCOPIA by Rachel Carmes is a hilarious fast-fire play about two people who love one other enough to go on the offensive with brilliant banter. Built-up tension comes to the surface after a comedy of errors. Finley and Jules find themselves with a late-night furniture issue the night before a family Thanksgiving that they are hosting. Enough old grudges and disagreements are dredged back up to fill a horn of plenty. Though there may not be enough glue and time to save the rickety table, there is enough love laced through the barbs to know that their relationship is sound.

I loved the rapid-fire banter of a couple on the verge of a nervous breakdown over the Thanksgiving arrangements. The breaking of the dinner table during a rousing round of sex starts things literally with a bang and then the barbs, comments, and jibes fly at warp speed as they try to figure out what to do about it. These two obviously love each other and now Rachel Carnes gives the audience reason to love them too. Really fun stuff.
