Do we ever really know the people in our lives? A tense short drama highlighting how our deepest suspicions can be confirmed if we allow them to be. Two encounters which reveal how sisterhood and standing up for each other as women can be a complicated thing. "Need to Know" serves as a poignant reminder of the subtle and treacherous essence of secrets. As a wife grieves, mourning not just the loss of her husband but also the image she held for him, another woman grapples with the trauma he imposed. This narrative boldly underscores the imperative to believe survivors. (A reminder: Your experience of someone only represents a singular perspective on a truth and nothing more- very powerful.) The unexpected twist at the end adds a beautiful layer to the narrative. BRAVA Rachel.

Both women in this story have very real, very believable and strong feelings at odds with one another. In a very uncomfortable, but necessary confrontation, we learn a lot about what some people can turn a blind eye to in order to continue to pretend things are fine. But the twist at the end leaves me wishing I had a friend like Girl 1, and also, I hope to never cross anyone like Girl 1! A true pillar of justice! By any means necessary.
