This 4-woman drama with a lot of black humor examines interrelated cycles of family and state-sponsored violence. When the rebel among three odd sisters returns home to reconcile with her estranged mother, cultures clash, sibling rivalries erupt, and bombs start falling. Called by critics "stunningly intelligent and politically provocative," and "a wickedly funny black comedy that relates an intimate history of family trauma and abuse while drawing fascinating parallels between domestic abuse, terrorism, and the waging of war.”

A powerful drama that opens our eyes to the abuse, terrorism and war that rages in our society. Well done.

Lovely, dynamic family drama with very real resonances for today.

I saw this in production at Central Works theatre. This is an engrossing, sad, darkly funny work that kept me captivated. Lots of delicious 'ouch' moments as the family members tread over each other and the mother's caretaker, who is not shy about treading back.
