I just thought of this play that I listened to well over a decade ago, which should tell you something about its staying power. I was able to find it easily with an incredibly vague google search for "mormon lesbian play" which should tell you that we still don't have nearly enough of these stories on stage in 2025. Cheers to Melissa Leilani Larson for breaking the ice with this one circa 2009. I'll continue thinking about where Claire & Brennan are today.

A bittersweet story that truly captures our awkward and wanting 20's. Larson has a keen ear for dialogue and hers flies at a great pace for the story. Claire's monologues, in particular her '11th hour' one, are memorable and well crafted.

What a gorgeous and heart wrenching play. I was totally sucked in by Claire and the impossible situation she is in with her best friend. Reading the play I laughed and cried more than once. Larson uses beautiful language and a sparse style of stroy telling that kept me gripped by LITTLE HAPPY SECRETS from start to finish. Highly recommend both reading and producing this play, we need more plays like it being done across the country!

Editing to add that there are tons of great monologues for women in here!
