A middle school teacher discovers that she is a finalist for a mission to establish the first permanent settlement on Mars. As she breaks the news to her wife, and meets with the billionaire founder of the private company planning the mission, she will have to choose between the earthbound life that she loves, or risk everything for the chance to be a part of the very history that she teaches.
