Of Mice and Marines

When a Marine unwittingly takes a photograph of an endangered species of mouse, a battle is set in motion between the military and environmentalists along the coastal sand dunes of Southern California. This play was inspired by a true story of the endangered Pacific Pocket Mouse and the United States Marines at Camp Pendleton, California.

I loved this play! The line, "I'm done playing musical beaches," felt so authentic to Marine Corps leadership. The piece was funny, relevant, and a beautiful reminder of how the mission may not always be what's most important.

A marvelous play giving light to an endangered species and calls on us to put effort into saving lives! Well done.

A wonderful short play about our place in the world, and the importance of stepping up to make a difference when it comes to defending nature and its inhabitants.
