Lauren's play "Votive" is a thought provoking piece that raises some moral questions in an interesting and unique way. Her well-crafted dialogue flows easily back and forth between serious and playful, all while tugging at emotions. A few lines in particular really stuck with me. The characters are memorable, and the story is solid. The use of the candle(s) in the play was beautifully executed, right from the beginning through to the end. This play would work well on any stage.
