Another magical and heart-breakingly human short piece by the master miniature magical world builder Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn. We always have options, but we don't always see our own inner strength and we don't always know how to ask for help. Just lovely. Breaking cycles of despair and of abandonment is the hoped for outcome of this magical exploration of the difficulty of motherhood. These women share painful truths that aren't acknowledged enough in the world. I was left with the hope that Bridget would find the resources to cope with her severe post-partum depression as she makes her final decision in the play.

One of the things I love about fantasy and fairytales is that it allows us to discuss difficult topics from within the safety of a magic circle. This is a beautiful ten minute play about motherhood and its difficulties as one's autonomy disappears for the benefit of a child, but it also provides a caution and guidance on how to find one's way and why it is important to fight the call of the fairies.
