MEETING GLORIA

by Adam Seidel

SEVEN MINUTE PLAY: Norman is traveling with his mother to a nearby town where he's going to introduce her to the love of his life, Gloria, who he hasn't yet met in person. Or so he thinks.

MEETING GLORIA was commissioned by the Pulp Stage for their reader's theatre, a format where actors perform plays much in the way a radio play is performed, except in front of an audience.

ADAM SEIDEL has written a witty play of a loved-starved nerdy bachelor who has fallen in love with someone he met online but never spoken to or seen. His mother travels with him to met this person, who her son intends to marry. The circumstances are a bit bizarre but totally believable. “Meeting Gloria” makes fun of online dating and does it in a comedic way.

Adam did a wonderful job and this play can be performed in a variety of settings and conditions (including virtually) with nothing but the actors. The play was even performed by residents in a retirement community and got big laughs.
