If Aesop were still around collecting fables, this would be one of the first he'd grab. Hens lay eggs. But that doesn't mean every egg has to, or even can become a chicken. Laying an egg doesn't mean the hen has the resources to keep the egg. But the "can't keep his trunk in his own business" elephant doesn't see it that way.
