Every time you think you know where this play is going, and where it will end up, it shifts in surprising ways, staying true to the characters and the darkness they are grappling with.

This is a charming piece that starts out a somewhat quirky rom-com but ends up something so deep and true and wonderful - it's like the discovery of a prism refracturing light - that so much could come from such a seemingly simple set-up - I am fascinated and thrilled by it!

Haunting, captivating, and fiercely original; this is an intricate mind-puzzle of a mental journey between these two characters. It is like a shared dream, and by the end of it, you are dreaming with them.

This is a beautiful, intricate play about two beautiful, intricate souls that may leave you questioning your notions of mental "health". This is an important play for bringing neurodiversity into our understanding of diversity a whole.

I saw an excellent production of WORLD BUILDERS this week in Nashville. It's a beautiful script, compelling and unexpectedly complex. One of my favorites so far this year!

This play serves as a good metaphor for how the writer creates a world or how the actor lives in the imaginary world of the play. It also illustrates how much we need to connect with other people even when we live in our own little world.

Johnna writes plays that are jealousy-inducing good. World Builders starts off with a simple, unusual idea, and elegantly launches it into the stratosphere, until you're falling desperately in love with these characters and the worlds they have created.

A truly wonderful play by a truly gifted writer. The production at Contemporary American Theatre Festival was funny, touching, and uplifting. You are drawn into the world of these characters, and into the worlds they have created, and fall in love with them as they fall in love with each other. Two quirky, charming, heart-breaking, heart-warming stories are woven into one great piece of theater. Easy to produce, great for two wonderful actors, and a treat for an audience.
