A brilliant and beautiful story that is gorgeously written and absolutely magical. Well done!

  • Lainie Vansant: SISTERS OF ELLERY HOLLOW

This play makes you feel like you're gathered around a campfire listening to an age-old tale. It takes its audience on a fantastically imaginative adventure with the potential to just use its actors talents to do so. It's perfect for touring (or actually producing at a campfire, I would watch that), and the story really sticks.

Utterly enchanting, and enthralling when produced simply. Two women, a nearly empty stage, yet magical.

  • Justin Guidroz: SISTERS OF ELLERY HOLLOW

A brilliant piece of lyrical storytelling. Spotswood's American Gothic folklore tale is enchanting and engrossing. His words paint his story and its world in vivid detail. A truly wonderful piece.

Absolutely first-rate storytelling. Gripping narratives designed to let two gifted actors grab an audience by the heart and not let go.

I have a real soft spot for backwoods rural fantasy like this. The settings are as distant to me as a far off planet, but the hints of the here and now make the magic that much more mysterious and wondrous. Spotswood understands the tropes of the genre, and he uses a delicate touch to make them his own. This story is tender, funny, and original. Like all lively works of fantasy, Spotswood has created a world here, and especially, two characters, that could live on in a thousand different tales. I hope the sisters travel down to us again.

One of my favorite nights of theatre in the last few years.
