Wonderfully fun and theatrical play with fabulous characters and lots of heart. Loved it!

A beautiful, life-affirming play that, while for all ages, is not afraid to deal with subjects such as mental illness and self-doubt. The story subverts and challenges the "Chosen One" trope common in much YA sci-fi and uses it to make a larger point about how we collectively contribute to humanity. I can imagine directors, actors, and designers having a blast with this piece.

ANNIE JUMP AND THE LIBRARY OF HEAVEN by Reina Hardy received a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere. Partnering NNPN Member Theaters were RENAISSANCE THEATERWORKS (Milwaukee, WI), RORSCHACH THEATRE (Washington, DC), THE VORTEX (Austin, TX), and THROWN STONE (Ridgefield, CT)

I saw a production of this recently in Washington, DC, and had an absolute blast. An out-of-this-world, all-ages play that’s not afraid to engage with more serious subject matter, ANNIE JUMP is a genuine celebration of nerdiness, empowerment, and love! Also, Hardy’s created lots of exciting opportunities for talented designers to play and show off. Highly recommended!

I was feeling a little down and so I came here to read this play and it filled me right up with joy and excitement and enthusiasm - I cannot recommend this play highly enough. It's great in so many ways - highly theatrical with strong characters and a nuanced, beating heart at its center. Produce this play often and far and wide - and in NY please so we can all bear witness to Reina's joy.

I have such a huge soft spot for this play. Magic, science, brilliant young women, aliens, and hope all rolled into one script. It's really funny and sweet, the dialogue bounces along, and I'd love to be best friends with any of the characters. A fantastic play for theater goers of all ages. Would love to see it produced.... Would also love to be a Librarian!

Very inspiring beautifully written play! I love the theatricality of Althea and the magic that takes place before our eyes, but the character of Annie is endearing and important, a feminist shero who is dealing with much more than science!

So happy Ms. Hardy shared her script with me. I loved it. Every bit of it. It's smart, funny, heartwarming, charming... reading it, I experienced that rare sense of discovery and surprise that I so often hope for, but so rarely actually experience. Brava!

This play is Drake's Equation come to life, a well-deserved slam on Newton's people skills, and a sweet story about nerds and hard work, family and the deep deep necessity of hope and belief. Annie Jump (not Annie Jump Cannon, but read up on her) is young, brilliant, and living where the sky is dark and there are few AP classes available, with a father who's prey to every SETI hoaxer out there and an internet joke. Then her life gets complicated when she is Chosen by the Library of Heaven to represent earth.
