Recommendations of My Body

  • Brynn Hambley: My Body

A piece that actively uses satire to highlight and ridicule the ridiculous misogyny inherent in society. Bublitz brings up many salient points that emphasize the abuse that women and AFAB people face on a daily basis, usually at the hands of cis men. Powerful, poignant, and expertly written. For a more detailed review, check out the SubStack "A Playwright's Journey".

Absolutely jarring and poignant. I was hooked from the beginning to the end. Masterfully written and dark enough to pique my interest.

  • John Busser: My Body

Wow, what a kick in the b*lls THIS play is! And deservedly so. If every man in a position to control women's destinies could be forced to live with the power in women's hands there'd be a lot of crying and whining. And Laura's giving Patrick the old "smile, you're more attractive that way" line is icing on the schadenfreude cake. Really smart writing.

  • Lee R. Lawing: My Body

It's a shame that from the start of religion, women and men weren't created equal by god, but "HE" didn't do that and so we've been playing catch-up with equality since the very start and it's been one long road. Bublitz offers up a funny play about a switch in what it might be like if men were not in charge at all, and quite frankly, even being one, I'd be glad with that outcome!

  • George Sapio: My Body

Perspective is everything. And because we live in a society where this not scifi, we can file this under "altogether possible." What features a topic of self management of one's own body is really a treatise on a wider issue of societal control of one group over others. A very challenging work and one that will spark heated discussions.

Can this be real? Bublitz turns the tables on the fight for women's body autonomy rights and creates a brilliant short that leaves me wishing this was the world I lived in. A fantastic addition to any 10-minute play festival.

Wow. I. Love. This. Play. Is it wrong that I wish this could be our world? Just for a little while? Yeah, it's wrong. But this play is oh so right! I would love to see this performed. I am sure the design team would have fun designing the collar, too!

  • Toby Malone: My Body

A wonderfully caustic, wise piece of writing that exposes the ridiculousness of one gender imposing their opinion on the bodies of another. This piece masterfully escalates the shocking lengths to which these characters interact to whole-heartedly stomp home the point that men have no place legislating womens' bodies. Great work.

A fabulous reversal of roles that is just oh so much fun. Well done.

I had the pleasure to sit with an audience in this "flip the script" play about bodily autonomy. The play masterfully moves the audience from early laughs to nodding of heads and strong verbal affirmations of the message. A powerful and clear piece.
