This script is so fun! It's funny with great characters and lots of room for interesting tech. But it also has heart and makes you care about the characters. The best kind of comedy.

Isn't it wonderful when you find a play that shows you all of the joy and glory and confusion of humanity when it's reflected through a pair of aliens from the planet Zlagdor, including the optimistic anthropologist father named Nancy and his rollerderby-skating daughter Arugula, just coming to terms with her sexuality and other confusing things. It's a beautifully crafted, loving, laugh-out-loud ride that should be (and IS being!) produced all over. Keep an eye out for 'Space Girl' - it's going to be everywhere really soon.

Delightful! Similar in comedic alien-out-of-place, fish-out-of-water tone to "Third Rock from the Sun" but ultimately deeper and more resonant than that. Full of quirky specificity.

A heart-melting alien invasion tale with quirky humor reminiscent of THIRD ROCK FROM THE SUN and THE NEIGHBORS but from a uniquely adolescent perspective. Replete with roller derby, salad and a dad named Nancy. Touching, smart and genuinely funny, but also full of the pathos and regret emblematic of growing up. Ultimately, it begs the question: is humanity worth saving? Honest monologues for a young adult actress.

This might be the best play I have read all year. Full of compassion for these characters and the entire human race, this is a play that needs to be done all over the country and seen by as many people as possible. I feel truly lucky to have read ths play.

This play is hilarious, and so sweet, and so timely. I did not expect my heart to be warmed by these engaging, curious characters, but I found myself so *in it* with them. Encapsulating the disorientation of being young and finding your place in the world within the body of an extraterrestrial character was a stroke of brilliance -- because we have all been in Arugula and Charlotte's shoes because high school is The Worst. Harris packs so much into this play - conservationism, longing, despair, and kinship. I love this play. I fully hope to see it onstage someday.

Full of quirky, memorable characters and hilarious dialogue, Space Girl takes us on a heartfelt journey about figuring out who you are and how you do or don't fit in. Mora began working on this at Carnegie Mellon University, and it is absolutely one of the plays that most stuck with me from my time in the program. It was always a delight to read, and I can't wait to see a staged production.

I first read this play in writers workshop at Carnegie Mellon University, and I still read it just for fun on my own, because it is just that great! Hilarious, relatable, and a touch of sadness make Space Girl comedy gold and a great read.

Yes! I'm on the side of the aliens, that speaking human is an ugly language. This play is flippant, spirited, spunky, self-aware, playful, and full of irony. I would also love someone with the vision to produce this play in a planetarium as teenage Arugula and her father Nancy try their best to fit in. Full of twists and turns, I love the journey.

Space Girl is sublime. Mora's made a goofy/wise coming of age comedy with thrilling theatricality, pitch-perfect jokes, a warm wry center, and indelible show-stealing characters. It's a joyride for directors, a treat for designers, and a gift for actors (with five great parts for women). Like Arugula discovering roller derby, you'll find delights you didn't know you needed.
