A docudrama that transcends its form with incandescent theatricality, Milta Ortiz' Más is a work that not only forces one to think but forces one to feel; if the combination is electrifying on the page, I can only imagine how potent this play is on stage. I'd love to see it performed.

This powerful play about the struggle over Mexican American Studies in Tuscon is tightly written and extremely theatrical! It does the job of docudrama while also transcending the form. From the nuanced characters to the song, dance, and ceremony, this play deserves all the productions.

Ortiz's play is based on extensive interviews and documentation from those at the heart of a struggle to educate and empower our Latinx citizens. It includes song, dance and poetry, with mythical allusion and cultural depth. In spite of the disheartening nature of this true history, it is a story of hope. I wish I could see it, the pageantry might leaven the heartbreak of reading it. A beautiful and important work.
