A brilliant story of imagination and the adventure that helps a young girl discover marvelous things that help her find the love and freedom to be great as oneself. Well done.

I have had the honor of co-directing this show as well as directing on my own for our schools OAP contest show. It's raw, real, witty, and pulls your heart in every direction. It is a beautiful story of love, loss, uncertainty , and what it truly means to be yourself.

I can't wait to do this show again, because of COIVD it was only done once. Maybe Pegasus will fly again soon.

A marvelous, marvelous play. This would be a fantastic piece for higher education theatres. It's dark and full of fantasy and marvel, but there are moments of reality that are so powerful they nearly knocked the wind out of me. A really phenomenal exploration of mental illness and the children that it leaves behind. Full of well-developed characters, truly theatrical moments, and adventure, "Of Serpents & Sea Spray" is a lovely, moving piece ready for production.

I had the privilege of directing this play in 2017 after falling in love with it years earlier under its first name. I absolutely loved directing it because at its core lies an impossibly deep well of imagination. It is, like so many of the best fables, folktales, and children's books (the work of Roald Dahl comes to mind) intense and painful at times, but ultimately hopeful and resonant. Rachel is not afraid to take her main character into the depths, and as a result the great heights to which she soars feel even higher.

I was able to watch Custom Made Theatre's production of "Serpents & Sea Spray" and was delighted to see how much of Rachel's diverse writing strengths poured into this highly theatrical play. Both boldly imaginative and adventurous and internally harrowing, this story follows a little girl as she navigates a scary world.

Just saw this play in production at San Francisco's Custom Made. Iro, the 12 year old female protagonist of this piece is an amazing and complex character. The world of the play blends reality with Iro's rich fantasy world and because of this creates many opportunities for theatricality - whether that's at the circus, or trapped inside a closet. The piece also balances light moments with dark ones, and would be an excellent piece for a high school or college ensemble looking to tackle challenging material.

Thrilled to be producing this in Custom Made Theatre's 2015-16 season. Difficult material that is handled with imagination, humor, and sensitivity.
