Really good stuff. The extended metaphor works better than I could have imagined. Not sure I can imagine the motion plan - but it would be very exciting to see. Ended at an interesting point - might not work to actually "arrive". Very nicely written.

The only thing predictable about the plays of Mark Harvey Levine is the smart writing and unforgettable characters. Cabfare For The Common Man is a breakneck drive through a serious topic that has you laughing during every stop, turn, and mile.

Things happen at breakneck speed here, and I enjoyed every second of it! This would be awesome to see live! Fantastic concept and execution!

I loved this amazing little play. Well thought out, emotionally savvy and very fun. The pace is infectious, with so much packed into such a tight frame. I'd love to see it performed!

This is one of those plays that you dream of seeing onstage (or getting to produce yourself!): Mark Harvey Levine sweeps you up in the brushstrokes of life in a way that is nothing short of genius. This play deserves every ounce of its widespread acclaim!

What a ride! Sharply observed, creatively metaphoric, at times funny, at times sad, Levine’s breathtakingly fast script races by as a collection of momentous moments adding up to a crazy road map filled with hairpin turns, short stops, and – sometimes – absolutely no direction at all.

Although a brilliant metaphor for common life experiences, this short play is extraordinary. Mark Harvey Levine encapsulates how life can pass us by at break-neck speed, never quite sure which direction to go in, or how it will end. But it's the journey, not the destination.

A wild ride indeed! Furiously fast and funny, but with a solid core full of heart. The writing and concepts are top notch, it’s far deeper than you’ll realize at first, and there’s plenty to challenge actors and technicians alike. Absolutely thrilling to read, I’d love to see this mounted. Thumbs up!

Cabfare For The Common Man is a gift for actors, director, designer, technical crew - and not least the audience. Clever choreography/blocking is ready-built into the script and we sit alongside the Everyman in the bed cum cab with our hearts in our mouth as the play races along at breakneck speed until the final humdinger of a line. From the witty title through the ambushed central character to a kind of happy ending, structure and content combine seamlessly into a breathless ride through life’s compulsions and choices on a whirlwind journey.

I did not expect this play to get to me like it did! It's fun. It's innovative. It's a stunning metaphor for life! Mark Harvey Levine does a stellar job capturing the twists and turns of growing up.

I have had several people recommend this play to me and I'm glad it final made it up my list. Because this play is an absolute treat.
