  • Grace Everett: The Aurora Project

A stunningly-told story of life and death, of light and darkness, of pain and joy… of all the terrible and lovely things we get to experience for being alive. This made me emotional, but not in a crying way, in more of a hopeful way. Nothing is forever, but somehow, everything is forever. This play is moving, speaking poetry. 10/10.

The way time works in this play is so vast, so ephemeral, so frighteningly complex, and yet Poynton weaves it so elegantly within this play. The characters have a tangible fragility, minds that are as different, strange, and also familiar as any person is. The cold infinite of space is captured here, as well as the pain of a dying universe that we mere humans can only try to wrap our heads around.

  • Molly Wagner: The Aurora Project

A beautiful love story that explores the core of humanity, the depth of the universe, and the mythos of time.

  • Monica Cross: The Aurora Project

The Aurora Project is a beautiful play with very complex characters, and a story that spans eons: Nora is sick, and Constantine will find a way to make her better even if takes a million years (or more). This play is particularly poignant at this present time. This play is full of hope and comfort even in the face of uncertainty. A wonderful play!

  • Jennifer Lynne Roberts: The Aurora Project

I'm a sucker for quiet plays with big questions and The Aurora Project is just that. This play is steeped in loneliness, and what I love about it is, it allows the reader to feel that same ache and fear of being alone, being isolated, being, perhaps, the last...on both a small, intimate scale (the relationship) and on the large, unfathomable scale (the universe). Love, technology, humanity. Big themes and questions. Definitely had me wrestling with a few.
