The Onion Game

by Bryan Delaney

The Onion Game was selected from over 2,800 scripts as a winner of the 2013 BBC Writersroom open submissions competition by the BBC in London.

Onion and Pearl are miserably married. As Onion writes the Great Irish Novel and Pearl covers the house in beads, they secretly plot each other's ruin. A grotesque black comedy of treachery, revenge, literature and onions.

Just read this play. LOVED IT. I was on this Irish roller coaster, start to finish. And what a finish. Anyone who enjoys a deeply fun, slightly skewed, sense of humor with a partiality towards black comedy and heightened theatrical storytelling should devour this play. And then support some local Onion farmers.

Delightful and delicious comedy, a thrill ride and utterly enjoyable. Loved the banter and the language, just so funny. Wonderful!
