Ten years after World War II, two interviewers, Irena, and Yakov, arrive on an island off the Croatian Coast. This is the last place Irena’s mother, a Jew, has been known to stand. Intending to interview Franitza about her sister Eva, Irena is hoping to gather clues about her mother.’s disappearance. Franitza is hoping to tell her sister Eva’s story one last time, and in so doing, exorcise the spirit who has been hounding her. Eva was a healer who with aid of a spirit named Orphan, could heal people’s eyes. What would a Jew have to do with a Catholic healer? Is Irena’s mother a part of Franitza’s story? Can this thread of hope put her guilt to rest? What has Franitza to let go of, before she can move on? All Souls is a lyrical play about memory, the War, and the temptation of Hope.

In "All Souls," Ballon transports us to a vibrant "other" world that makes magic feel real. Beautifully intertwining multiple character arcs one on top of the other, the playwright leads us through a mystery that explores people, love, and culture, and begs the question: just how much of a person can survive death?
