←Recommendations of Mahogany Brown and the Case of the Disappearing Kid

This play goes from heartwarming child detective pastiche to heartrending inescapable realism and takes the audience along on the journey in such a way that such a big shift never feels like anything but the natural and inevitable path to take. It's a powerful piece and I'll gladly echo others in saying that it is a full-on stomach punch of a play.

Incredibly amazing and moving play. Very hard to not leave the work without shedding at least one tear.

So rare to find a piece of theater that truly embraces and understands style while still delivering rich, nuanced emotional stakes. Also, a joyous playground for all actors involved.

Great genre mash-up that still delivers moving drama in the most satisfying of ways. Even when hard-boiled, Gina's amazing poetic voice comes through strong and she offers a design team delight!

Mahogany Brown is a gut punch in the most glorious ways. The subject matter is bleak but the stylistic way it tackles said subject matter mixed with Femia's sense of humor make this a play a must-read, must-see, and must-perform.

Gina Femia can write the cherries offa slot machine! She takes a comically darkish genre (Noir) and turns it inside out upside down and sideways to tear your heart out! The darkest most unfathomable mysteries - Femia's on it! Read this and weep!

Fell in love with this play IMMEDIATELY. It made me laugh, cry, and made me feel an immense load of emotions that caught me completely off guard. I couldn't get Mahogany Brown out of my head since that first read, so of course that meant we needed to put it on stage! HIGHLY recommend more producers to do the same!

This play made me freaking cry. It sneaks up on you. It's a killer of a play.
