Lucy Wang is a master storyteller and tells stories with the most painful and joyful themes. This short piece has a very useful premise and the characters are strong. The interrogator character is a surprise in his empathy and the Anna Mae character has "true aim" in every line. Very well written and this would be captivating on stage.

Wang is a singular witness to and reporter of the ongoing conflict between the races on this continent, and never so eloquent as when she so elegantly captures (and reports) the nut, the root of the impasse, that point in which all present are unable to see beyond their own conundrum. How do we break through? I do not know, but I am grateful that Wang continues to challenge us.

A pot of bubbling tension. Anna Mae Aquash receives quite the effective portrayal in a play that runs as short as the life it captures. Anna’s character is a spitfire with some exceptional dialogue. A quick and powerful play.
