I saw this play and its companion piece "Mystery Date" read at Drunken Owl Theatre. They are both delightful! Kate Danley does a fantastic job taking the familiar situation of skeptical/disapproving relatives meeting a new spouse and giving it a comedic twist. Each of the four parts is light-hearted but meaty enough to give actors a wide range of testing both physical and verbal comedic skills.

Franklin would be such a fun role to play! So much physical comedy, while the rest of the cast tries hard not to crack up and play the rest of the scene straight. Audiences will be roaring with laughter right alongside dear Franklin. Hilarious short!

Sue seem to have a definite type and that type is not to her family's liking. Many laughs come out of the boyfriend's identity and Jane's response to his identity.
