After ten years clean and sober, Molly Drexler falls off the wagon and drives her Prius through her living room wall. With a hole in the house as big as the hole in their hearts, Molly’s two sisters, mother, father, and wicked stepmother descend on the house for an “intervention” that doesn’t play out the way anyone thought it would.

    I was privileged to direct the World Premiere of BAD DOG at Orlando Shakespeare Theatre in the spring of 2015. Jennifer Hoppe-House has written a contemporary homage to the Epic Family Drama genre that satisfies on both comic and dramatic levels. Audiences were consistently moved to laughter and tears. Post-show discussions were full of cathartic storytelling. The play touches audiences universally whether they relate to Molly's story directly or they have a Molly in there lives. Jennifer's marvelous script threads the needle of delicious dark comedy in its first act with heartfelt drama in its seconds. Daily I'm receiving emails from patrons blown away by their experience of the play, and let me tell you, Jennifer is a beautiful human being and a peach to work with. I can't recommend it highly enough!
