"Homo for Christmas" is a well timed comedy that can't help but make you laugh, even in the most uncomfortable of situations.

A very funny Christmas play about a truly awkward family get-together, expertly brought to life on the GATHER BY THE GHOST LIGHT podcast!

This play is absolutely hilarious! Bavoso manages to give us a laugh line with every other sentence as this family remains in denial that their daughter has a girlfriend. While it may not be a family friendly script, this is a perfect holiday play for theatres out there that cater to mature audiences!

Just listened to this on GATHER BY THE GHOST LIGHT and what a fun holiday piece! I absolutely adore how positive Ashley's family remains, no matter what Ashley throws at them! So funny and relatable.

There is a perfectly-timed joke in this script that made me shriek-laugh so loud that someone upstairs called down, "NOTHING'S THAT FUNNY!" Clearly, they haven't read this frustratingly hilarious holiday play! You'll be rooting for poor Ashely as her oblivious family dismisses nearly everything about her holiday guest. Unfortunately, the scenario is as absurd as it is painfully relatable. By the end, I found my shoulders dropping with relief. What a delightfully goofy short for the festive season!

Oh, if there wasn't an underlying sadness, no scrub that, an 'in your face' sadness, to this play it would be hilarious! Indeed it is very funny, with visuals which would bring the house down. But you feel for Ashley as her family, apparently, simply refuse to accept her feelings and her sexual preferences. I want to laugh but mostly to shout at her parents to tell them to accept this! A great play!

Oh my gosh, this play is hilarious and it just keeps getting better! A holiday family reunion that makes you want to scream that so many will relate to. Fantastic!

With so many alternative Christmas festivals around, it’s no wonder this is finding a home. In the best spirit of Christmas, it celebrates love and denial which are not strangers at Christmas. It could be a self-help book about how to come out on Christmas Day. Complete with laughter and guts.

Wonderfully funny family dynamics! Homo for Christmas is a perfect laugh-out-loud holiday comedy! Bavoso has a great sense of the visual too!

There is an astonishing amount of the absurd in this comedy that one can only conclude that it comes from a place of truth. Bavoso creates a laugh almost every other line in this play while still creating a poignant commentary on denial in families and awkward conversations at those holiday get-togethers.
