I Know

Lila and Daniel, together for decades, are actors in their 60s/70s. When he comes home after another failed audition, Lila is kicking him out. Surprise. Then another surprise. Then another. A short comedic drama about love and commitment.

I'm exhausted from just reading this. It's a juggernaut of emotion, twisting and manipulating, and you never really know what's real until the end. And even maybe then. But what a workout! Every line is perfect, every nuance natural. Brilliant.

I had the privilege of seeing this show as a part of More Real Life Stories in Newburyport, MA and I was hooked from the beginning. It's funny and touching with a new twist around every bend in the story. The dialoged is stellar and the roles offer some fantastic opportunities to show a performer's range. Loved the show.

I thought I knew where this play was going, and then it went somewhere else. Very satisfying! This short play offers great roles for actors in their 70s. The dialogue sparkles, and it opens with one helluva fun monologue.
