Set in Zimbabwe, the play follows the life of a young boy from the age of eight with his big dreams, excitement and hopes against the background of a nation which is changing. His dream of being a diplomatic journalist is thwarted when he wakes up to a nation under sanctions. The young boy slowly changes from being a passive viewer of his nation to an active viewer as he starts to notice how food is now a rare commodity, he has to stand in 8 hour queue to get a bottle of cooking oil. He sets out to find out the cause of this crumbling nation that is constantly thwarting not only his dreams but his father’s who has dreamt of being a farmer but when the land is redistributed he gets a rocky useless place. As life changes he finds himself caught up in the political turmoil were the nation demands that he choose a political side and stick with it, his father’s complacency in this matter almost gets the whole family killed by a mob. This sets the young boy now a young man on a course were his moral choices are questioned and sacrifices are demanded.
