a wondrous & weird & sensitive exploration of what it means to be a man today — the quest to understand oneself, to undress and redress one's insecurities, to strive for love above all else. maybe the best depiction I have seen of homosocial love — that deep, mysterious, precarious kind of friendship that can exist queasily and beautifully between two men. i love this play!

I read a review of Scorsese's "The Irishman" which said something to the effect of "the reason Scorsese made this movie was to make it so no one has to make any more gangster films" -- I feel this way about Sofya's play and its loving/scathing indictment of a certain kind of apocalyptic masculinity, desperate and needy and hollow and perfectly-realized. I don't really need other plays about men because this one gets the job done.

A fascinating play in real time during a yoga session that features two men on a quest for self improvement. Brilliant dialogue and really beautifully paced.
