Rice's great achievement with LENI & JOSEPH is to create a thrillingly catty behind-the-scenes show biz soap opera - and let our excitement and engagement with that serve as an equivalent to the seductiveness of evil, so we can see just how easily it happens. Smart, an actor's delight, and terrifyingly relevant.

Villains rarely see themselves as villains. This compelling play draws us into the friendship/power struggle between two individuals so driven by ambition they are able to justify terrible choices. Excellent dialogue and tension--a great read.

A riveting play that shows how an artist can be corrupted by power, and how the powerful can use art to achieve their goals.

There is a constant struggle for power on every page of this script, and I could not get enough of this battle to see who would come out on top.

I had the great pleasure of seeing this remarkable and thoroughly researched play read at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in Valdez, AK last week. Jacob is a gifted playwright, and showed a deft hand at sharing these two remarkable personalities and their relationship [s]. Not too much; not too little; and left us all thinking.

We are pleased to support this play! It was a Finalist for the 2017 New Works Festival at Kitchen Dog Theater in Dallas, Texas.

A riveting, heart pounding historical drama that grasped me and didn't let me go. Jacob's dialogue is spectacular as he humanizes both of these complex historical figures in surprising ways. A very timely tale in this political climate, I hope to see this play produced very soon.
