This play is prescient and more relevant than ever. A beautiful ode to the power of storytelling, this world shows us what's truly possible as we begin to reemerge from the pandemic, the election, and all our personal tribulations of the last year.

Wow. So happy this one was recommended to me. This is an exciting theatrical reflection on the potential of storytelling to inspire. The near-future setting is disturbingly plausible, as is the all too familiar tragedy that informs the "given circumstances." Even so, skillful use of comedy and self-aware theatrical conceits keep the narrative moving right along. An altogether unique and thought-provoking piece that effectively moves us towards hope and resilience. I can't wait to see this staged. Bravo.

Chisholm has written a wholly original play that speaks to race and gender politics with humor and grace. It exists in the space between metaphor and reality, modern-day events and their future repercussions. Looking forward to reading more from this writer.

This play was developed at The National New Play Network MFA Playwrights Workshop. This program, conducted annually in conjunction with The Kennedy Center and the National Center for New Plays, provides a graduate–level student playwright with an NNPN-affiliated director and dramaturg, a professional cast for a week of script development, and an introduction to the Network, its Membership, and programs.
