What a unique, poignant, and affecting play! I particularly love how each of the three scenes stands alone as an intriguing commentary on relationships, while as a whole they become a much more profound exploration of love, truth, and regret. Dani and Charles are compelling characters to follow across a decade, and each subsequent scene provides surprises that shed new light on events from the previous one. They are distinct and well-drawn characters, and they would be excellent roles for two strong and versatile actors. I'd look forward to seeing a production of this theatrical and nuanced play!

David Hansen has choreographed an intricate two-step in "The Way I Danced With You (The George Michael Play)," and it is at once joyful, frustrating, witty, and very, very heartbreakingly real. Like all first loves. And second, and third, and...

This fascinating two-hander takes us on a unique journey through love and regret. Intimate, entertaining, and fun, Mr. Hansen's play explores what could've been and what we could've done better...especially as it applies to love. And who can't relate to that? A perfect piece for two strong actors who want to show their range, and directors who love to work with intimate relationships and make compelling discoveries. Theatres will find this piece resonates with audiences of all ages--some who see themselves in the characters' journeys, and some who may be getting a peak into what will be. Recommend!

I had the pleasure and honor of directing this play with Ensemble Theatre in Cleveland, OH. The dialogue is crisp and weaves the story & characters with delicate precision. It's two great roles for young actors, and audiences were hooked from start to finish thanks to the way David is able to use humor & nuance to tell the story of Charles and Dani. Highly recommend.

A lovely nuanced play. GREAT material for actors. Always stays one step ahead of the audience, even as it re-explores past events. Honest, natural dialogue that remains eloquent and funny. This is a play with a heart worthy of being broken.

This play grabs the reader and holds on. It flows seamlessly while it challenges the function of memory. The dialogue never stumbles or stalls, the characters rich and engaging. I can't imagine a soul out there who hasn't been in their skin. And although this is a deeply textured script which will challenge the actor, I agree with another recommendation that said it would be a breeze to produce this wonderful play.

I heard this play at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference and was *instantly* captivated by its delicately interwoven storylines and beautifully understated dialogue. A fantastic character piece and, with only two actors, a breeze to produce. Give it a read!
