There's so seldom theatre that lean into fantasy as much as this play does. HIleman takes images and concepts from a classic fairy tale and uses them to craft a world where magic is real, it is history, it's a fact of life, and it's destructive and wonderful. Time is spent setting up a world that is huge and epic, for a story that lends itself so well to a particular kind of stage magic. An adventure of spellcasters with hands deep in the pulse of lore and legend.

Alandra Hileman is your one-stop shop for epic high-fantasy narrative with a feminist twist. More than any other play we've produced, this play left audiences saying "Now I want to read the novel" (or watch the HBO series, or play the RPG...), a testament to Alandra's world- and mythology-building prowess. Gerda is a strong female character par excellence, surrounded by a great cast of supporting characters that our actors loved sinking their teeth into. Musical and magical, Spell Eternity deserves a multi-million dollar production on a major stage (though, of course, it can be done with far less). Do recommend!
