This is such a fascinating exploration of morals and doing what is right through the eyes of science. Well written and a pleasure to read!

Could an error of calculations ruin it all for these aspiring academics? Or could integrity be the way? Fantastic.

Oh my goodness this play was wonderful! Mixing the complexity of science and research with the complexity of female friendship creates a truly compelling story. I loved it!

A beautifully written, timely play that places intelligent women at the center of a meaningful story.

I love plays about intelligent women, and this one is so well done. The two additional characters complement Sanam and Ariel and have just as much depth as our heroines. I especially love the surprises Shekar introduces just as we think we've figured everyone out.

Royally suspenseful! It is rare for me to have such an edge-of-my-seat experience for a science play, and rare for me to care about the love subplot, but I did! Wonderfully done - I am abuzz!

This is a play about science, not about a famous scientist doing some great man thing but about how science works with, around, and despite the imperfect humans who practice it. Bees are dying due to CCD and neonics are strongly implicated. A research project finds a statistically significant connection and is all set to publish in Nature when the last batch of data gets crunched and throws the analysis off entirely. The question is what to do about the data. Heady stuff, clearly laid out with great characters and insanely high stakes. Strongly strongly recommended!

I had the privilege of seeing Queen at its world premiere production at Victory Gardens and I was so impressed by the intricacies of the story. Madhuri Shekar is definitely a playwright to look out for. I can't wait to read more of her work!

It’s rare to see plays that deal specifically with STEM themes in a way that edifies without losing entertainment value, but “Queen” succeeds here—regally!—with flying colors. The plot stays compelling without becoming a dramatization of the scientific process, thanks to playwright Madhuri Shekar’s charismatic and dynamic characters. “Queen” succeeds at being exactly as self-contained as its narrative requires: every scene advances the characters toward the script’s stirring culmination without a beat feeling extraneous or misplaced.

Stick with this play...it starts a little slowly, and then speeds up to the point where it is rolling downhill; totally worth the wait. I love the fact that none of the characters are cliche. Just when you think you have them figured out, they go and do something unexpected! It makes for a very interesting plot, but also, it makes the play seem realistic as well as idealistic. I highly recommend it.
