I read ALLOND(R)A for the first time more than a year ago, back when I was still too shy to write NPX recommendations, and I've thought about it ever since. Rereading it now was just as enthralling as the first time, and I fell in love all over again. Watching Allonda come into herself and her identity is a remarkable experience, and witnessing the moments of vulnerability and tenderness that each other character has is equally lovely. This is a truly magnificent play.

I've been reflecting on all the plays I've read over the past year, and this is one of only a small handful which stuck in my mind. The tone, celebratory and raw, powerful and running out of it's cage - other's have already said it better in their recommendations but I would so love to see this someday. Thank you for this play.

I wake up every day dreaming of seeing a production of this incredible play. It's really astonishing.

We read this play as a reading series at my school and weeks later I'm still thinking about it. The writing is visceral and the characters so three dimensional. It was beautiful to hear these Teen characters in both joy and struggle. I was particularly moved by the play explored agency for these Teens characters. Folks need to be producing this today.

Students chose this for our weekly series and I didn't know how much I needed this particular Gina Femia script until we started. Like all of Femia's work, it's beautiful, triumphant, sad, and seemlessly blends fantasy and realism. I need to see this play produced the second theatres open and I need everyone to read it so we can talk about it tonight. This play is a GIFT!

A gorgeous, moving, theatrical play, so well-deserving of its many awards. Femia is of the best playwrights writing today. I hope this receives many productions.

I love when plays are about characters who are so big the world they live in can't contain them, and Gina's play is such a play. With every new scene Allond(R)a expands its margins to accommodate Allondra and her friends, whose dreams and personalities grow as large as kaiju. The same thing happens with Gina's text, a buffet of language and formatting choices that demand a passionate, red-blooded staging. This is a play as rich to read as it is to imagine, and if this world is just, we won't have to settle long for just Imagining it.

oh god--a gutpunch of a play. a beautifully messy story about being a teenager and moving past fear and fighting for your life.

God, I love plays with wrestling in them. However, instead of taking on the WWE system a la ‘The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity,’ Femia has chosen to use wrestling to mirror the tumultuous act of figuring out who you are as a young person. The characters are boisterous and so easy to love. The action clips along speedily, but it never feels rushed. And the final three pages threw me for a loop! Excellent work.

Grateful I got to see a reading of this brilliant play by Gina Femia! It elegantly captures what it is to be on the cusp of adulthood moving past self-doubt and finding the fearlessness one needs to venture out into the world and life.
