Playwrights Foundation enthusiastically recommends this play, DELIVERY, as a Semi-Finalist for the Bay Area Playwrights Festival 2020. We were moved by the quality of the writing and the relevant and compelling themes that spoke to the mission of our festival. It excelled in a competitive process of 735 plays submitted this year and rose to the top after a six month long process discussing its merits with both national and local Bay Area readers, and we hope it moves swiftly towards production.

DELIVERY is a beautiful and heart-breaking exploration of the lives of three students whose worlds have been touched by police violence. Robinson has gifted us with the opportunity to spend some time with three incredible, funny, talented, goofy young artists -- it hurts when it's over.

There is an amazing, incredible honesty and remarkably genuine quality to the voices of these characters, even (or, rather, especially) in their most heightened moments. Robinson has a remarkable ear for the spirit of speech. Her time as a teacher has made her a clear and vital conduit for the hearts and minds of our hurting youth. There is much to be said about the strength of these students, they're the best, they are survivors manifesting a salvation through art...but I was also struck by Tolivar, her patience and perception, her noticing the necessity of beauty in dark times.
