A play about sexual assault should do the opposite of a Twitter post, or even a newspaper article. In Loveland, horror, rage, and distrust lurk menacingly beneath the surface, while everyday life floats on top by default, and nothing at all is certain. MT Cozzola’s characters are smart, deftly observed, and nothing if not complex in this subtle and devastating play.

Great characters, lots of tension, and such important subject matter, I am happy to recommend this one! It is a thoroughly enjoyable play that needs production!

Dizzying and sharp, LOVELAND wastes no time getting to the crux of its drama. Writing about sexual abuse is difficult, but MT Cozzola delivers each beat fiercely and leaves you reeling with how brutally honest and vulnerable her characters can get. #PlaywrightPlug
