Inspired by the classic short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, this black comedy, satirical horror play tells the story of two powerful cooperate couples from the queer community vying for a most heinous albeit coveted prize.

Markus and Holger versus Susan and Marla. All members of a secret society of formidable gays, these two teams have a longstanding camaraderie and rivalry based on capitalistic greed. Constantly wagering their minions against each other (in the arena of the arts of all places), their covert attempts to win it all backfire in the end.

This play is truly thrilling! There are very few plays that I've read that can pull off horror and suspense. "The Prize" accomplishes everything you need in a horror play: mystery, suspense, plot twists, surprises, sexiness, rawness, and entertainment. It's a story about class, money, and status- some of the scariest things on this planet that threaten humanity everyday.
