A Twisted Kingdom

by Christopher Fok

FULL-LENGTH: A Twisted Kingdom is a fairytale with modern consequences. It follows the iconic journey of The Fool through the abyss, who searches for his kidnapped prince, and in doing so dredges up memories long suppressed and forgotten. The play is an unrelenting examination of childhood trauma, and how facing one's personal demons can lead to a simple cathartic truth.

A fantastic exploration of ones own trauma and truth through a magical adventure that makes the process a beautiful experience. Excellent.

This is an incredibly important play and an actor's dream role. Using elements of the surreal, of tarot, of magic, this story explores childhood trauma in a refreshingly unique way. There is simply not another play like this one. I highly recommend this heavy, moving, and powerful work of art.

A haunting exploration of child abuse that is both stark and frivolous, both beautiful and bleak, both fantastical and jarringly realistic. Unique staging, intense writing, and a soul of hope make this fascinating piece as moving as it is.
