The benign blitheness with which the story is told is what makes it so powerful. The very fact that it can be relayed so casually makes it scary.

This is a chilling, evocative, and an IMPORTANT play. It is a must read for anyone who cares about gun control or who wants to be more informed in the debate over the second amendment. A political masterpiece!

Absolutely chilling. I felt genuinely afraid as I read the play. This is so much more than a monologue, this an incredibly important piece of information. Robert does a magnificent job of pairing a laissez faire attitude with terrifying facts. How can be so complacent? After reading Robert's play, I have no idea. This must produced now when it is more important than ever because as Robert so keenly points out in this play, these "rights" are not right.

This gun control monologue is really something special, both because it incorporates humor (which gets attention in ways drama and tragedy sometimes do not) and is full of extremely useful information. I love the employment of traditional, 'cliched' salesmen tropes to further underscore the point: that in America, guns are a commodity more valuable than human life. This would be a great opener or closer to a festival of plays about gun control.

Wow. Can we put this in every gun control festival right now? Grim and incisive satire as to why you should always buy your guns in the good old U.S.A. It highlights the ridiculousness of our laws. Having the monologue said by a gung-ho salesperson magnifies the idiocy of these times.

This is one of my favorite of gun control monologues, a smart choice for any reading or production on gun control. With a twist I didn't see coming, this clever monologue with a dynamic salesman character shows us how idiotic America's gun control laws are right now in comparison to other countries.

Cleverly disguised as the monologue of an overeager gun shop salesman just trying to make a deal, this dark tongue-in-cheek short walks the audience through various countries' more restrictive gun laws, comparing them all the while to the lax restrictions in the US. Factual without being pedantic, it would make a good street performance piece.

Part carnival barker, part used car salesman, the overeager gun salesman takes us through why we should "buy American," and in the process forces us to think about how we are compared to other nations when it comes to guns.
