    Amazing piece that examines celebrity, sexism, relationships, and the sometimes toxic intersections between those things. "this party sucks" is both highly theatrical and huge while being startlingly intimate. The dialogue vacillates between spare and sometimes wordless moments of lived in reality and equally plausible frantic, emotion and substance fueled cascades of words. All three characters are so carefully rendered and multi-dimensional, and Cleo's arc is inspired and at times heartbreaking. I hope to see a production of this piece in the near future!

    I've been working on this play for a scene study, and this text offers so much to sink into. These characters are stunningly drawn and the ethereal moments mixed with the harshly visceral ones made me ache. Cleo is mighty and this play does her story and her fight justice.

    A highly theatrical play that dives deep into the themes of fame, sexism and living in someone’s shadow. Levitsky-Weitz has crafted a character in Cleo that is so layered and unapologetic. It’s a role of a lifetime for a 30 something actress. This play and the relationships that are beautifully and honestly portrayed in it will stay with me for a long time. This play needs to be produced!!

This play is an act of violence: it's sexy, it's gritty, it's mean, it's funny, it's romantic. Through a collection of scenes in and around a hotel room, Levitsky-Weitz doesn't only shed light on three incredibly nuanced humans grappling with celebrity, fame, addiction, love, and jealousy; but she gives us an entire diorama of the history of their relationships. We need more of this in theatre right now: plays that are messy. Life isn't well-made, so why should plays be?
