I'm so upset that I didn't print out a copy of this play to post on the callboard alongside the cast list of my own production of Wizard of Oz. The subversive message of the play is so excellently crafted into the recognizable theatre kid "tropes" and I enjoyed it tremendously! Great work!

Great piece for younger actors AND older actors performing as/for youths. I love the message here, presented with humor and heart.

Edit: I was lucky enough to see this performed during Rough Magic Shakespeare Company's "Three by Three: Uprisings" on July 9, 2020. The two actors truly brought it alive with charm and skill!

What a clever dive into the mind of a teen girl who absolutely knows the delicate art of human engineering! Such a short run of absolute fun! A great little play for youth theatre!

Hayet's brisk comedy is open to lots of interpretations for a director and female performers. Whether played sunny and earnest or with just the slightest devious twinkle, "McIntosh" is all fun.

My grade 6 students fought over who got to perform this one! Great message for young actors, while being a lot of fun!

Love this! Perfect for young actors to play with, so much here. They'll have so much fun!

I had the pleasure of watching this as part of Stage Left Theater's Fast & Furious one-minute play festival in Spokane, WA (both as a performance, and as a piece used to audition actors) ! Hayet puts a clever spin on The Wizard of Oz and the delicate dance performers play when the cast list goes up. Best of all, if you never before paid any attention to the part of Tree No. 1 in that famous story, after experiencing this play, you will never forget the important role that figure plays. A smart offering that's both hilarious and genuine.

Every character truly is the hero of their own story. This maxim works on a few levels here in this wonderful take on theater, perspective, and the intricacies of causality. A lovey confection!

There's a bit of a warm smile you get as these students bring even the smallest roles in a school play into the highest of stakes. Steven Hayet creates the kind of backstory you expect from theatre schoolkids and stands up for the kids finding joy in their imagination and turning a lesser role into something amazing. It's a fun play with some really great dialogue and rhythm. It would completely fit any school play event.
