←Recommendations of POP! Goes the Bubble - a New Musical

This was my introduction to Harmon's work, and I was hooked! Gorgeous harmonies, hilarious lyrics, unexpected twists, and she always captures the heart of her characters through soaring music.

Convinced that there’s just no purity left in the world? Harmon proves that notion wrong with Cumorah... a bright-eyed twenty-something Mormon trying to widen her world, as she makes an impulsive (and illicit,) first time solo tour of New York City. Mom doesnt know she’s there, and surely wouldn’t approve. But Morah’s journey of self discovery can’t be contained. Along the way in this charming solo musical, we’re gifted with songs that are adorable, uproarious, and poignant. Be sure to check out the footage from its run at the Salt Lake Fringe Festival.

A heart filled solo musical that's entirely endearing, fun, and sweetly self-aware. 'Me' is a standout song that's filled with heart and brings to mind 'No One Else' (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812) in that both utilize a simple, beautiful motif to such striking effect.

A bold work. "She was Janice Kapp Perry’s cousin’s sister-in-law’s neighbor, so...ya know - connections." << yep, the play has Utah down pat. This is an interesting example of something sorely lacking in modern American theatre - plays with regional color - Inge had Kansas, Wilson had Pittsburgh, O'Neill, New England - Yurth Harmon has brought forth an unabashedly Utah play - with 1,001 references for those who know. To top it off, the thing is a musical and turns the Mormon tradition of the road show on its head. Cumorah's next stop should be Jakarta.
