Was an actor in a staged reading of Sadie Hurtz and was incredibly impressed with how the story was heartfelt and wild at the same time. There is a deep grounding and heart to the dark carnival strangeness that surrounds it.

A creepy and compelling psychological roller coaster of a script, Sadie Hurtz is terrific and terrifying fun through and through. It's a rare carnivalesque horror that's perfect for the theater.

This play draws you in and draws you along as you become fully wrapped up in Mandy's life and quest for the truth, if perceiving truth is possible when imagination and memory share the exact same region of the brain (as the play teaches us early on). The writing here is imaginative and evocative. The imagery described will be intrinsic to any staging and it should enter the subconscious and haunt.

This gripping psychological horror mystery challenges us to question the interplay between memory, imagination, and obsession as the three blend together. Mandy struggles to grapple with her father's mental illness and difficult legacy as she finds herself on similar paths. The inventive use of space works with the text to create these spaces of memory and horror. Full of strong twists, humor, and effective dialogue, I would absolutely love to see this play performed.

I've had the privilege of watching this unfold at Tuesdays at 9 Chicago! We're only 20 pages in but I'm already hooked. Fardon is weaving a dark and mysterious tale and, if the set-up is any indication, this is going to be a fantastically creepy ride.
