So. Frickin. Sweet. This play makes me smile. Well done, Jeremy Cole!

This little gem gets me right where I live -- and lived. It reminds me very much of couples that I know and tugs at my heart because at least one of those couples was me and my late ex. I love the way Jeremy Cole gives us everything we need to know about these "young pals" in such simple and succinct ways: a word, a touch, a look, and we know how deeply they feel for each other.

What a lovely play! A paean to the deep and abiding affections that begin when we’re young and that will, with faith and a brutally compatible combination of wit and rapport, endure. There are a couple of well crafted surprises that are just joyful. I feel better now than I did five minutes ago thanks to this play. No kidding!

Romantic comedies always have the "aw" factor; Jeremy Cole's "Heavy Lifting" is no exception. But Cole's clever use of casting to add to the theatricality of the story adds the "oh" factor. Read this short play, and smile. I did.
