Jack and Julia have overcome their relationship issues and are getting married. But on the big day, an unexpected ice storm upends their plans. Jack’s car spins out of control and kills a helpless pedestrian, leaving Jack emotionally shut down and forcing Julia to confront a childhood trauma. Meanwhile, a cast of characters more equipped to deal with death than Julia — her soldier sister, her mother, and the daughter of the man killed in the accident — bond with the traumatized Jack, leaving Julia isolated and conflicted about her feelings toward him. ONLY ONE asks: How fragile is our happiness? What does it mean to love someone “for better or worse?” How do we live with death? Can connection bring us back from the edge?
