Recommendations of Mother and Daughter

  • Cheryl Bear: Mother and Daughter

A great tale of the consequences of a mother relenting to a willful child and of appreciation for those who have our best interest at heart. Well done.

  • John Busser: Mother and Daughter

A ruthless reminder to watch for what we wish for. This is heartbreaking in it's forward march to a total collapse of two lives. Both Mother and Daughter here suffer the consequences of their actions. Powerfully written.

  • Warren Paul Glover: Mother and Daughter

There are some big issues packed into a little play here: self-image, self-loathing, poor nutrition, the inability to connect and communicate between the generations/parent & child, how poverty restricts choice...
Perhaps there's scope to expand and explore in more depth? For example, it would be interesting to have more insight as to why the mother relents; has she given up or was it deliberate and therefore more sinister?
An interesting take on some important subjects with scope to develop further the characters; roles that actors can really get their teeth into.

  • Steven G. Martin: Mother and Daughter

Tragic inevitability. An audience will cringe and try to avert their eyes once the first sign of weakness appears, but they will bear witness as things grow worse. Credit Ruth Zamoyta for not letting up on the actions and consequences in this one-act play.

Two shattering roles for brave women actors, especially the brutal, savage teenage daughter.
