A gorgeous examination of grief. "Polaris" is both structurally innovative and deeply human, a play that distances you enough from the central pain it's exploring that, when you are confronted by it again, it is all the more startling. An extraordinary play.

This captivating play confidently guides both the audience and the play's title character through a variety of worlds. Imaginative in scope, yet ultimately intimate and heart wrenching, this play is a compelling theatrical experiences.

A contemplative and lyrical play set at a meditative yet always engaging pace. Green has created a truly original theatrical world whose visual and aural landscape--both what we see and what is simply spoken and imagined/pantomimed--is stunning. Polaris' journey looking for Gideon is poignant and takes several surprising turns. P O L A R I S is an exquisite meditation on grief, and its touching truths about the grieving process are organically folded in to the action of the "game within a play." The ending is very potent! I'd love to see what this looks like onstage.

An unbelievably moving play about losing family and trying to find them. Through the conventions of DnD (and other dice throwing games) Polaris searches for his brother in alien terrain. Charles Green is able to take this journey play to unexpected, terrifying, and tearful places. Polaris is a play about how we process (or don't) our grief through imaginary worlds.
