A Jukebox for the Algonquin

At a senior living community in the Adirondacks, a small group of residents decide they’re not quite ready to “go gentle into that good night.” This band of displaced former city dwellers from Brooklyn and The Bronx hatch a plot to prove that aging is not a New York state of mind. A Jukebox for the Algonquin is a tale about those who will not be forgotten - a serious comedy about sex, drugs, and rocking chairs.

Hysterical and insightful. This show is full of characters that feel truly lived. An incredible ensemble piece with a broad appeal to audiences young and old. The laughs are consistent through the whole show, save for a few well earned moments of truly impactful insight from not only the residents of this senior care facility, but its staff as well. Truly a beautiful look at lives lived and loved ones lost.

    Highly recommend reading this show.

I love this play! It is smart and laugh out loud funny...Until it's not. And when it's not... it is beautifully real. The writing is sharp and strong with such well drawn characters that we absolutely recognize but don't see enough of on our stages. Bravo! Looking forward to seeing this somewhere soon. I have a feeling it will have a long life.
